Digital to Analogue Converters
| ACL have developed the Digital
to Analogue converter for digital switches where
the switch manufacturer does not have an available
recording Interface. History The conventional way to record a Digital telephone switch was to tap into the Analogue signal from the user’s terminal telephone handset and bring the Analogue signal back via the structured cable. |
||||||
This has many disadvantages, some of which are: · Large analogue signal loss. |

|||||
· Often
hands free calls not recorded.
Advantages · Long tap length, up to maximum cable length specified by PBX manufacturer (aprox 1km). · In the event of a failure, DAC cards can be replaced without powering down the recorder. · The DAC cards are hot-swappable without power down. · Speech LED to show call in progress. · Sync LED to show data connection between PBX and the extension. · Balanced audio output to recorder. · Audio output can be driven over long cable length without degradation (up to 500m). · Very
reliable.
Specifications Supplied as standard with 2 line channels per card, B1 signal on each ( B2 option 4 channels available). Plugs into ACL universal digital backplane housed in 3 U high shelves, 15/20 cards (30/40 channels). Or DAC in a box, 2, 4, 6 and 8 channel format with plug top P.S.U.

With ACD systems we have exchange end watchdog
to prevent open mic recording during idle.
We also have developed an analogue
to digital converter (SBUS 2 chnl) to encode
Analogue voice signals for totally digital
recorders (type AD42).
